Paediatricians hold camp on villagers’ health problems

Indore : Indore Academy of Paediatrics on Saturday organised a health check-up camp in Bagli village with the aim to provide better health facilities to women and children in rural areas.

More than 350 children and women of about 150 villages were examined and vaccinated during the camp organised at primary health centre.

 President of Indore Academy of Paediatrics Dr S K Bhandari said, “Aim of organising the camp in rural areas was to address the queries of women and children so that they can give up unhealthy practices that affect their health.”


He said doctors informed patients and villagers about ways to treat malnutrition and ways of preventing diarrhoea, typhoid, malaria and other diseases with home remedies.

Secretary of IPA Dr Shrilekha Joshi talked about family planning and women’s health. Dr Chitra Shiralkar, Dr Pramila Adhikari, Dr Ashish Jaiswal and Dr Dilip Jain provided free consultation to the patients and also answered queries of 272 ASHAs to train them for providing better care to people rural areas.
