Indore : Nearly 25 meritorious students will not be coming to the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) to receive medals during the convocation ceremony on September 28.
A closer look at the registrations for the medals revealed that 22 gold medals and seven silver medals would be awarded in absentia. DAVV media incharge Chandan Gupta said that as many as 77 students have been registered for the medals. Of these, 68 students would receive 99 gold medals and seven students silver medals.
This year as many as 137 medals, including 121 gold and seven silver medals, are to be conferred during the convocation ceremony.
Most of the medals, to be precise 100, have been clinched by girl students.
Besides medals, degrees are to be conferred on PhD students who completed their courses by June 2013.
Gupta said that 25 students have registered for PhD degrees.
Meanwhile, a rehearsal for convocation ceremony was conducted in the university auditorium on Thursday. Apart from students, acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra, registrar and executive council members participated in the rehearsal.
