Indore’s Ankit Sharma’s film selected in China Film Festival


Indore: Indore’s Ankit Sharma’s second film has been selected in China Film Festival. The film, titled ‘Turtle’ is directed by Dinesh S Yadav and produced by Ashok Choudhary. Sanjay Mishra is the protagonist of the film and Ankit Sharma is playing the role of his son Hari.

Turtle is a feature film of about 90 minutes based on the issue of water crisis in a village of Rajasthan. The shooting of the movie started in the middle of last year and it took a year for completion. Ankit Sharma has done his bachelors education from Indore’s EMRC, DAVV and then further went to FTII, Pune. He got his degree in 2011 from FTII and from then on he has done many theatre shows like Jis Lahor Nai Wekhiya o Janmiya He Nahi, Kharashen-Kabeera Khada Bazaar Mai, Sakharam Binder, among others.

Television shows like Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma (6 episodes) and Aakhe Hatim Tai. His first movie was Gulaab Gang starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. In this movie he played the main negative character named ‘Sarju’.

Excerpts from interview:

“I enjoyed acting in the movie with Sanjay Mishra, he’s such a humble, honest and down to earth man. I’ve learnt a lot from him,” said Ankit Mishra. “Fame is not the purpose, I take acting as an art form and I love everything about acting. As for me acting is an art, so I would rather consider myself as an artist instead an actor,” said Ankit Sharma. “Good acting skills are the basic need of a feature and parallel film and I would love doing those films which enhances my work,” said Ankit.
