Indore: Woman files dowry case against husband, in-laws


Indore: Police registered cases against a woman’s husband and in-laws for harassing her and trying to strangulate her within four days of marriage when their dowry demands were not met.

According to Jyoti Sharma, TI, Mahila Thana, cases were registered on the complaint from Sadhana of Khatiwala Tank against her husband Vishal Kukreja, mother-in-law Nisha and father-in-law Prakash Kukreja under Sections 498-A, 323, 506 and 34 of the IPC.

Sadhna got married to Vishal in January 2016. Vishal is employed with TCS Mumbai. Within four days of her marriage, her in-laws began demanding Rs 10 lakh and 10-tola gold although her father had spent lavishly at the marriage, and started harassing her.

Sadhna alleged that her husband beat her up at the instigation of his parents and even tried to strangulate her. Later she was kicked out of house and was forced to live with her parents.
