Indore: Transactions in Govt officers go cashless in district


Indore: After getting orders from Chief Secretary BP Singh, the district administration has started efforts towards making the office cashless.

 A committee led by ADM Rakhi Sahay is being already constituted on Monday, which will coordinate to achieve the target. In this connection, a workshop was held at the collector’s office on Tuesday.

Representatives of certain banks briefed about available ways of electronic payments. Beside making payments through MP Online portal, people can also make payments through swipe machine, payments apps, Point of Sale (PoS) online payments, etc. PoS machines will also be installed in different departments. The IMC is also planning to launch its own portal to facilitate for cashless payments. As per plan, from December 1, all payments in revenue departments and registration departments would be made cashless.

RBI, bankers will take stock of cash position today

Amid acute shortage of cash, an emergency meeting of the district level consultative committee of bankers will be held on Wednesday.

Lead District Manager Mukesh Bhatt said that Assistant General Manager of the RBI-Bhopal, Prabhakar Jha is attending the meeting. All bankers and top officials of the district administration will attend the meeting.
