Indore: PS in-charge sent to lines after villager’s protest


Bagli: Acting on additional director general, Ujjain Zone, V Madhu Kumar’s directive, Dewas additional superintendent of police Anil Patidar line attached Bagli police station in-charge DP Ahirwar.

The move against Ahirwar was taken after scores of villagers from Bagli and its neighbouring areas submitted memorandum addressing collector to Bagli tehsildar BS Shrivastava over the police officer’s alleged threat to rape victims to withdraw complaints and also other hostel inmates to keep mum on the rape incidents allegedly committed by the former hostel superintendent’s husband.

In the memorandum, irked parents and villagers of hostel inmates from model SC/ST girls hostel and junior girls hostel claimed that Ahirwar allegedly visited the hostel at around 9.30 pm on Thursday and attempted to threaten hostel inmates. Villagers claimed that at the time of his visit, investigation officer Leela Solanki or any other female constable was accompanying the officer, which is violation of norms.

They added that, with an intention to threaten the victims and her friends those who raised voice against Premdayal Masih and his suspended hostel superintendent wife Anjana Masih, Ahirwar asked complainants to be present at police station on Friday. When, complainants and other hostel inmates visited police station, Ahirwar interacted with girls in a closed room in absence of any female officer.

Villagers claimed that Ahirwarh allegedly threatened the girls to withdraw their complaint and if they did not obey his order, he will disclose the name of girls and it will bring humiliation for their families. Meanwhile, attempt to contact Ahirwar to get his version was failed even after repeated attempt as his phone was out of reach. When contacted senior advocate Praveen Choudhary said its sheer violation of rights and Ahirwar misused his post.
