Indore: Police foil loot attempts, 10 members of two gangs arrested


Indore: Plans of two different gangs of notorious goons were failed due to the alertness of the city police as they were arrested with arms while planning loots. According to police, members of a gang were arrested from Heera Nagar police station area while the other goons were arrested from Chandan Nagar area.

ASP East (Zone III) Sampat Kumar Upadhyaya informed that acting on a tip-off, a team led by Heera Nagar Police Station in-charge Shashikant Chaurasiya raided the place behind a hotel and arrested five goons with country made pistols, knives, iron roads and canes.

The accused were identified as Rohit Mahesh (21), Vicky Namdev (22), Tanmay Tarak (23), Chetan Chaudhary (20) and Golu Shooter (25). “They were planning to loot the hotel manager, behind which they were hiding. A motorcycle was also recovered from their possession,” the ASP said.

Meanwhile, ASP West (Zone II) Rupesh Kumar Dwivedi informed that acting on a tip-off, a team led by Chandan Nagar police station in-charge Yogesh Singh Tomar arrested five miscreants with arms from near Sirpur lake.

The accused were identified as Momin, Gopal, Rahul, Mohit and Bablu. “These accused were planning to attack and loot a doctor in the area. A case has been registered against them and police are interrogating them to know more about their activities,” Dwivedi said.
