Indore: One dies, 6 injured in car accident

Garoth: One person died and six others were injured in a car accident near Sonkatch here on Wednesday.

According to police, all the seven people from village Boliya were on their way to Bhopal to witness the Assembly proceedings when their car lost control and rammed a culvert near Sonkatch at 6 am killing Ramesh Chauhan, 40 on the spot and injuring others.

BJP’s Garoth MLA Chander Singh Sisodia’s brother Raghunath Singh Sisodia, Babulal Jain and his daughter, Mangilal Tailor and driver Radheshyam were among others injured in the incident.


The injured were initially rushed to a hospital in Sonkatch, which further referred them to Dewas. Later, the victims have been shifted to Bombay Hospital, Indore from Dewas and their condition is stated to be stable, said sources.

BJP’s district president, board president and MLA Chander Singh Sisodia, Raghunath Singh Bagwaan, district panchayat vice president Tofan Singh Chauhan, former board general secretary Ashok Pehelwan, district panchayat member representative Gokul Singh Chauhan, Garoth MLA’s son Bhopal Singh Sisodia and other people reached the hospital as soon as they received the information of the accident.
