Indore: Kingpin of online betting racket held from Mumbai


Indore: City crime branch on Thursday arrested an online betting king from Mumbai, who had been running the betting racket in at least seven states of the country and 15 other countries. The accused was on the run for few months and senior police officials had announced a reward of Rs 20,000 on his arrest.

ASP (crime) Amarendra Singh said that Achal Chourasiya, a resident of Lower Parel, Mumbai was arrested from Baba Saheb Ambedkar Nagar, Mumbai. He was booked by crime branch under section 420, 465, 467, 468, 470, 471, 120-B of IPC in 2016 on the complaint of a citizen.
During investigation, it was found that Chourasiya was booked in many states for illegally running online game to dupe people. He had developed a software in which customer always loses the game. He was running his game with name Gameking India Pvt Ltd in 15 countries. His annual turnover is more than Rs 200 crore, police said.

Chourasiya had completed his education from Canada after which he established a company with his father and started online betting business. He has 15 employees in his office and his network of online game is in Mumbai and other states of the country as well. Chourasiya had appointed area managers in major cities and they used to make clients to other persons through which the game was being run. The accused was also booked by the police in Jalandhar, Meerut, Samata Nagar Mumbai, Arthur Road Mumbai, Kandiwali Mumbai, Delhi, Ludhiana, Faridabad, Nagpur, Noida, Firozpur, Indore, Ujjain and Dhar.
