Indore: Traders faced difficulty on Day one of temporary enrollment for Goods and Service Tax (GST) on Wednesday. Out of 12 hours, the GST portal was found nonfunctional most of time and the procedure got lengthier.
The process for temporary enrollment in GST portal began on Wednesday morning in the state and it will continue till December 15.
Excited traders and their tax consultants started the procedure for enrollment since morning but gradually complaints of portal problem started pouring in from several firms and offices of tax consultants. The problem aggravated further by afternoon. Later, the portal started working normally but it took lot of time.
CA JP Saraf, secretary Tax Practitioners Association, said that the process of enrollment was much lengthier than what was expected. Elaborating about the problems faced by tax consultants, CA Saraf said that certain traders’ complain that they did not get their password and ID from the Commercial Tax Department portal.
Traders face problem while applying digital signature or Aadhar based e-signature. Aadhar based e-signature was not getting activated.
Tax consultants said that earlier it was convinced that after filling initially information in GST Portal, all necessary data of the firm would automatically shifted to the portal of Commercial Tax Department.
But there was nothing like that. Traders and their tax consultants had to feed all information right from date of incorporation of business firm to till date.
