Indore: Five members of a family from city, including two children were killed in a head-on collision between their car and an oil tanker near Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Friday early morning. The family was heading towards Ramdevra when the accident happened at around 6.30 am near Balesar in Rajasthan.
Scheme Number 71 resident Krishnagopal Joshi (40) along with mother Ratanbai (65), wife Sonal (36), daughter Bhavya (6) and Mohak (4) was heading toward Ramdevra in his Indica car, when their car collided head-on with an oil tanker.
Sub inspector of Chandan Nagar police station, Ghanshyam Mishra said that local police there had informed about the accident to city police control room on the basis of the victims’ car number, which was registered in the name of the Krishnagopal Joshi.
Following the tip off, police reached Joshi’s house only to find it locked. However, Mishra managed to contact Joshi’s relatives and informed them about the tragic incident.
Neighbour of the victims, Golu Sharma told Free Press over phone that Krishnagopal Joshi was employed as an area manager in a pharmaceutical company and had left for Jodhpur along with his family two days ago.
Further investigation revealed that the family was actually going to Ramdevra to pay obeisance. They first dropped Ratanbai’s brother, who had come to city for Rakshabandhan, to Jodhpur and were on their way to the village in Rajasthan, when the accident took place.
Pall of gloom descended over the neighbourhood, after the news spread. Neighbours informed Joshi’s brother, residing in Mandleshwar and his sister about the incident.
Joshi’s cousin Vishal Mishra informed that he along with other relatives were on their way to Rajasthan to receive the bodies and family members and relatives have decided to perform last rites of the deceased in Baleshwar, as the bodies were not in a condition to take back to Indore.
