I-T sleuths started survey action at five locations of prominent caterers of the city— Aayojan, Lalawat, Bhandari, Rajrani and tent supplier Girdhar on Tuesday afternoon, which was ended in the night itself.

Official sources said that through the action, the I-T dept wants to convey a message that high-spending in marriages using banned notes are under the scanner of the department.

The department has been keeping watch on exaggerated expenditures in marriages for sometime.

It is also found during survey action that some people used to book these caterers using banned notes.

In books of account, the caterers showed booking done well before November 8. Officials also found certain evidence of showing bookings in more amounts then the actual cost.
