Indore: Fake mobile financing gang busted, 11 arrested


Indore: City crime branch has busted a gang involved in fraud mobile financing with fake documents like Aadhaar cards, ration cards and voter identity cards. The crime branch has arrested 11 members of the gang, including the kingpin.

ASP (Crime branch) Amrendra Singh informed that the legal representative Ankit Sarada of Home Credit Finance Company Pvt Ltd had lodged a complaint about this fraud to DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra recently.

It was informed in the complaint that on behalf of Home Credit Finance Company and its employees, Rs 4,48,505 had been financed for the purchase of 36 mobile phones worth Rs 6 lakh from 19 mobile phone shops. But, after six-seven months, not a single installment was paid. After that, the company employees verified addresses mentioned in the documents and found all the addresses were fake.

During the investigations of finance company’s documents and interrogation of shopkeepers, it was found that all the boys were from rural areas.

On the basis of this information, the investigation team collected details of students studying in city from rural areas and one of the boys was identified as Kuldeep Singh Thakur, a resident of Darkhera of Sehore district.  On the basis of this information, the crime branch team arrested Kuldeep Singh from his village. During interrogations, Kuldeep told police that he along with one Shakti Thakur, a resident of Arniya Gaji of Ashta tehsil has done the fraud and Shakti is residing at Rau.

The crime branch team immediately reached at Rau and arrested Shakti Singh from there. The team also succeeded to arrest two more associates of Shakti – Krishnapal and Virendra Singh – from Rau. During interrogation Shakti informed police about the kingpin of the gang and two more associates – Digvijay Singh Bhati, a resident of village Amona, tehsil Tonkkhurd in Dewas district  and Dushyant Singh, a resident of village Bager, Ashta tehsil of Sehore district. Bhati and Dushyant were former employees of Home Credit Finance Company and Bhati is the kingpin of the gang.

After getting this information, the crime branch team arrested Digvijay Singh, Dushyant Singh, Krishnapal Singh, Shakti Singh, Kuldeep Thakur, Ravindra Singh, resident of Vishukheri, district Sehore, Budhan Singh, Virendra Singh Thakur, Gajendra Thakur, Virendra Singh, and Suraj Soni. The crime branch has registered case against all the accused under Section 417, 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC. All the arrested were handed over to Tukoganj police.
