Indore: Unidentified miscreants attempted to loot an ATM booth in Raoji Bazaar area on Thursday night, but remained unsuccessful after they failed to crack open the machine. However, they damaged the machine in the process. Police have registered the case and are sifting through CCTV footage to identify the accused.
According to the police, the robbers entered the ATM booth of State Bank of India located in Pagnispaga area of the city. There were no guards in the booth at the time of the incident and it was discovered later around 11 pm on Thursday, when the guard reached there for duty.
Lower part of ATM machine was severely damaged in the incident. The accused also damaged CCTV camera installed in the booth to hide his identity. However, footage collected from CCTVs of surrounding area is being examined.
Police suspected that the crime was committed by some drug addicts. However, investigation into the case is underway.
Minor fire at chat shop
A minor fire broke out at a chaat shop near Dawa Bazaar on Friday. The shop employees doused the flames soon after spotting the flames, but a panic like situation prevailed for some time as the chaat shop was situated just behind the petrol bunk. Police fire brigade officials said that the incident took place around 8 am due to leakage in LPG cylinder at the eatery. Following a tip off, the fire brigade team reached the spot only to find the fire was already doused by the employees of the chat shop. There were no casualties or injuries in the incident. The petrol bunk had stopped selling petrol till the fire was doused.
Man hurt as car rams electric pole
A speeding car rammed an electric pole installed on the stretch between Navlakha and Agrasen Square late on Thursday night. One person in the car was injured in the accident. Police said that the car travelling towards Agrasen Square lost control and rammed the poll, injuring one of the two persons travelling in the car. The injured was rushed to hospital soon after the incident. Upon receiving information, police team reached the spot and took the car to police station with the help of a crane. Police are trying to know the details about the injured persons.
Man held with ganja
A man was arrested with 600 grams of ganja on Thursday. Police said that that accused Ramesh Prajapat was carrying ganja and he was arrested following a tip off from Ambedkar Square of Betma. He is being questioned about the person to whom he was going to deliver the ganja.
