Indore: Two days after Indore College of Agriculture described complaint of ragging as false, the complainant submitted a video recording to University Grants Commission (UGC) and said its proof that ragging took place. “The recording is evidence that I suffered due to ragging,” said the complainant in an email to the UGC. He said he had recorded ragging incident on his mobile phone when some of his classmates and senior students harassed him.

The UGC confirmed receiving the video clip and told the complainant that it would get back to him after watching the recording. Meanwhile, college dean V K Swarnkar said that complainant had not showed any video or gave any other evidence of ragging to anti-ragging committee during inquiry.

“I can’t comment on the issue till I see the video,” he said. However, Swarnkar maintained that it was not a case of ragging case but a personal dispute between the complainant and a group of students.

The BSc second year student last Monday had lodged a complaint with UGC alleging physical and mental harassment by some of his classmates and seniors. In his compliant, the victim named the accused including Sanjay Verma, Pawan Gurjar, Krishan Kant Patel, Hemant Vishwakarma, Rohit Yadav and Shivam Patidar. Following the UGC directives, the colleges had probed the matter.
