Indore: Indore will host a two-day academic event, National Tax Conference, from May 5 and more than 700 delegates from across the country will participate in it. Justice DY Chandrachud, Judge Supreme Court of India, will inaugurate the meet.
During different sessions of the conference, experts will contemplate on the provisions of direct and indirect taxes. The conference is going to be organized by All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) (Central Zone) along with Tax Practitioners Association, Indore and Tax Bar at Tribunal, Indore at ICAI auditorium.
CA Rajesh Mehta, Chairman of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Central Zone) said more than 700 delegates across the country would participate in the knowledge sharing event. Though the registration is just started it’s getting a good responses from aspirants from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Jaipur, Jabalpur, Kota, Satna, Rewa, Bhopal, Raipur, Bhilai, Rajnandgaon, Jodhpur, Badmer, Ujjain, Guwahati, Siliguri, Vellore, Chennai, Nagpur, Indore, Ratlam, Neemuch, Hoshangabad, Burhanpur, Ranchi, Nellore, Jamshedpur, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Ajmer, Allahabad, Hyderabad, Dhar, Dewas and Jhabua.
Besides practising corporate clients, CEOs and accounts staff have also expressed willingness to take part in the event. The conference will be inaugurated by chief guest and Supreme Court judge, Justice (Dr) DY Chandrachud, while Purushendra Kaurav, Advocate General of MP, will be the guest of honor. The 2-day event will have a total 6 sessions.
Rajesh Joshi, national joint-secretary of AIFTP and CA Abhay Sharma, Chairman CA, Indore branch and also conference chairman said that in the 1st session Adv Sameer Divatia from Ahmedabad will present his views on ‘Tax management through will, family arrangement, private trust’.
The 2nd session will be on ‘Taxability of works contract under GST on real estate developers’ and speaker will be CA Sanjay Dhariwal from Bengaluru. The 3rd technical session will be on ‘Reassessment of income tax cases interesting issues’ and speaker of the session will be Adv Rakesh Gupta (Past ITAT member), New Delhi.
The concluding day of the conference will have 3 sessions. The first session will be on ‘Constitutional remedies under income tax law with special reference to Prosecution and recovery proceedings’. Speaker of the session will be senior advocate Firoz B Andhyarujina from Mumbai. The 2nd session will be on ‘Blocked credit in GST, GST on discount, GST on reimbursement, GST on GTA, challenges for professionals’, where speaker will be CA Ankit Somani from Ajmer. The last session will be on ‘Recent developments in taxation of undisclosed income with special reference to section 115 BBE and speaker will be CA Jagdish T Punjabi of Mumbai.
