Indore: Bouquet of services for happier year ahead


Indore: After sweet and sore experience of 2017, New Year 2018 is sure to bring big smiles on faces of common man with new facilities and services added in the field of aviation, passport, taxation, and railway. These apart, more than 2,000 industries of Pithampur will receive 24X7 supply of Narmada water, with authorities obliging their long standing demand.

The New Year is expected to prove blissful for the citizens as the seeds sown in 2017 are now ready to yield results. For example, last year was remarkable in the sense the city got its passport office after a long time demand, which began with just 50 appointments for passport seekers per day, and this year is likely to witness a manifold hike of 600 to 800 appointments per day in phased manner. Similarly, this year the city airport will get round the clock flight operation starting from most likely April. Let us learn more about the raining sops from the top brass and decision makers.

Services of 45 depts to be delivered just in 24 hours

Citizens will now be able to get certain public services on the same day they are asking under the new ‘Samadhan Ek Din’ scheme to be launched from January 11. Initially, 45 services of 14 departments have been included under the scheme, which will be delivered the same day they are applied for. Public service management department has made all the arrangements for the hassle-free delivery of services through Lok Seva Kendras. Citizens can apply for the identified services at the public service delivery centre from 9.30 am to 1:30 pm. The desired services will be delivered to them the same day

Passport appointment quota to witness manifold hike

As soon as ministry of external affairs and TCS will sign MoU, we will increase the per day appointment quota of passport from existing 260 to anything around 600 to 800 in a phased manner at Passport Seva Kendra Indore. The initiative will help reduce waiting period of applicants. Besides, a passport mela will also be organised at PSK Indore in January to facilitate applicants

Escalator, lifts at rly station to be made operational

Our total focus will be on adding more value added services to our esteemed passengers this year. We will make escalators at platform no. 1, 4, 5 and 6 of the city railway station operational. Besides, lifts would also be installed. Railway traffic congestion between Ujjain and Indore is always a matter of worry and therefore, to mitigate it doubling of 79-km section will also start this year

Airport to get 24X7 flight operation from April

City airport, from where at present 60 flights are being operated per day, starting from 6 am to 10 pm, from April onwards this year operation of flights will be increased with having late night flights. This will help a lot to a majority of passengers of the region. Parking issue at airport will also be resolved this year. We are hopeful to get 28 acre land this year as well after which we will be executing the master plan of the airport

Maiden smart industrial park at Pithampur

New Year 2018 will definitely bring cheer to industries and create employment opportunities.
