Indore: Bastar triumphs in ‘NTPC’s Inter-District U-17 girls football championship’


Indore: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Korba organised ‘Inter-district Under-17 Girls Football Championship’ on project premises recently. NTPC Korba group general manager Neeraj Kumar Sinha inaugurated this tournament on July 11. In the finale, team Bastar defeated Durg in a penalty shootout by 5-4. NTPC has been allocated the responsibility of promoting football in Chhattisgarh by the state government.

In accordance with the football calendar 2017-18, the company in association with Chhattisgarh Football Association (CFA) has been organising coaching camps and tournament for different age groups to select a team for representing the state at national level in the game of football. General manager (operations and maintenance) Dipankar Bose, general manager (fuel management) B Goswami, general manager (maintenance) Tiwari, general manager (technical services) Dakshinamurty, additional general manager (human resource) S S Das, deputy general manager (human resources) S K Minj, other project officials, members of sports council and other unions and associations along with members of CFA were present during the tournament finale.
