Indore: 47 boxes of crackers seized from Musakhedi area


Officials seal cracker shop in Ranipura area on Thursday

Indore: Action against illegal warehousing of fireworks continued for second day on Thursday. A team seized as many as 47 box crackers from a house in Musakhedi area.

According to official information, a joint team of district administration and police searched house of one Balbhadra Hardia in Musakhedi area and seized 47 boxes of crackers which were illegally stored. A criminal case will be charged against the hoarder, sources said. Another team searched the warehouse of Khema Industries located in Doulatganj area from where 20 boxes of illegally stored crackers were seized. Four other warehouses were also searched in Palda area and were sealed as a precautionary measure.

Explosive experts visit site
A two-member team from office of MP Chief Controller of Explosive visited the fire incident site at Ranipura on Thursday. Sources informed that on the instruction of state chief controller of explosives Wajiuddin, Additional Controller of explosives Rajendra Rawal and deputy controller Tejvir Singh visited the spot. Later, they visited Central Kotwali police station and obtained a copy of FIR.

ADM Shamim Uddin starts probe
Additional District Magistrate Shamim Uddin started magisterial probe into the incident. The one-man committee has invited views and reports about the incident from MP Western Discom over possible reason of short circuit, report from SDM on casualties and injuries due to the incident.

ADM is probing the fire on six points including circumstance of fire accident, main reasons of fire, were the firecrackers illegally stored? How was the fire controlled? The committee is also seeking suggestions to stop recurrence of such incident. Any person who wishes to register their statement or give any evidence about the incident can approach the ADM office located in Room No. 103 collector office.
