Indore: The kidnapping of a girl from Aerodrome area on Monday turned out to be an elaborate plan of the girl herself to throw the police and her family of track. The police claimed that the girl had left for Assam to be with her sister following an argument with her family.

According to Baljeet Singh Bisen, station in-charge, Aerodrome police station, the girl, Chitra, her father Jaikishan Jhawar, mother Vidhya, brother Rajkumar and sister-in-law moved to the city six months ago.

The family took up residence at Shri Residency on Aerodrome Road and Jhawar opened readymade garments business at Tilakpath.

Chitra went missing on Monday evening. After an exhaustive search failed to reveal her whereabouts, a missing persons report was filed with the police.

On Tuesday morning brother Rajkumar received a message on WhatsApp from Chitra that she was kidnapped and was being taken to Nagpur by two burqa clad women and three men.

By late afternoon, the family informed that Chitra was on her way to Assam where Chitra’s sister and her husband reside.
