HIGH COMMAND TRING TO PULL THINGS TOGETHER
INDORE: Despite efforts by Congress high command to bring together all senior leaders of Madhya Pradesh and bring to an end to factionalism here, the political differences and personal conflicts is blowing more air into the fire. Now, it seems, party vice- president Rahul Gandhi would take some concrete steps to curb factionalism and do something positive in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
After the nearly sweeping victory of the BJP over the Congress in the recently- held Assembly elections, party’s frontline leaders like Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Digvijay Singh and even the second line leaders are playing the blame game by accusing each other of defeat in the elections.
A recent incident in which a Congress leader from Bilaspur, Jagdish adav, had directly targeted Digvijay Singh calling him ‘ dangerous’ for the party and accused him of being the main spoilsport in the recent elections.Though adav was later suspended by the party, this incident of speaking out against one of the frontline leaders tells the story of discontentment pervading in the party.
Also, it shows that bringing the senior leaders together won’t be an easy game for the party high command.Arun adav, who was recently appointed MPCC president, is endeavoring to bring all the leaders together. However, it is presumed that he has a soft corner for Digvijay Singh as was evident by a recent incident when adav sought blessings of Digvijay. adav even said that without Digvijay’s blessings his endeavor won’t fructify.
Digvijay too had responded positively to this message of adav and assured him of full support. It is very much possible that before the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, Arun adav would field his new team in a bid to deliver better results.
