Drive against cattle rearers: Day 1 , Six cattle owners booked under NSA for attacking IMC squad in previous drive.
Indore : A joint team of Indore Municipal Corporation, city police and district administration initiated massive drive against cattle rearers in the city on Saturday.
The action has been initiated following the murder of an IMC employee during drive against stray cattle on Thursday by four people, including some cattle rearers.
The drive kicked-off in Chhatripura area where eight multi-storey buildings were demolished as it was either constructed on encroached land or did not have IMC approval. Team members also demolished two cattle sheds in the area.
Heavy police force was deployed in the area to avert Thursday-like incident. The drive started at 11 am and continued till 5 pm amidst chaotic situation. However fearing police ire, none of the resident raised voice against the IMC move.
According to information, IMC squad pulled down houses belongs to Satish Yadav, Munnalal Yadav, Sonu Kumayu, Mukesh Kumayu, Bharat Yadav, Jagannath Yadav, Vijay Narayan Yadav and Nilesh Chouhan. Officials present at the site informed that many of the houses were constructed without IMC approval. The drive will continue in future as well.
Six cattle owners have been booked under National Security Act (NSA) who were involved in attack on IMC squad in earlier drive.
Akku alias Akash Tomar, a resident of Hira Nagar; Paras Yadav, a resident of Adarsh Maulik Nagar; Ramesh Jat, a resident of Pardeshipura; Golu Thakur of Bhagirathpura; Golu Makwana of Rau andChandan Yadav of Musakhedi have been booked under NSA.
Shubham Kushwaha (26), a member of IMC squad was stabbed to death on Thursday during a drive against stray cattle in Gauri Nagar area of the city.
Police on Friday arrested Krishna Yadav alias Bhaiyyu, who is the prime accused in the case
from Barwah town in Khargone district.
During the course of investigation it was revealed that Kushwaha had an altercation with Yadav a couple of days ago and the latter was angry with him due to IMC’s campaign. On Thursday, they were again locked in a dispute resulting to the murder.
One more arrested
Hira Nagar police arrest one more accused in the case. According to police, the arrested is 17-year-old and a resident of Kulkarni ka Bhatta. He was nabbed from Bhagirathpura area. The minor had fled to Maheshwar after the crime and on Saturday, he came to meet one of his relatives to get some money, the police said.
Vijayvargiya visits deceased’s family
BJP national general secretary and MLA from Mhow Assembly constituency, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Assembly constituency No 2 MLA Ramesh Mendola on Saturday visited deceased Shubham Kushwaha family and consoled his family members. The family members told the BJP leaders that a couple of days ago, Shubham and accused had heated argument over stray cattle drive. At that time, Shubham’s team members pacified the situation and stopped him reporting the matter to police.
“If his (Shubham) team members reported the matter to police, then our son would have been alive today,” the grieving family members said. On this, Vijayvargiya assured them stern action against all the culprits.
