New Delhi : Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has engaged poll strategist Prashant Kishor to help the party in preparing for the Gujarat Assembly elections in December. He took the decision to rope in Kishor on Friday, a day after return from the United States with his ailing mother Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President. The decision came much to the chagrin of the party leaders from Uttar Pradesh as they grumbled that Rahul should have made an assessment of the party’s debacle of winning just seven seats in the 403-member Assembly under the strategic advices of Kishor.
The party sources, however, said Rahul was happy with the help extended by Kishor in Punjab and he went by the word of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on how the strategies planned by him and his team helped the Congress sweep the polls.
