Now, Justice Karnan seeks justice from President

New Delhi: Convicted of contempt of court and sentenced to 6 months in jail, Calcutta HC judge C.S. Karnan has filed a petition before President Pranab Mukherjee seeking suspension of his sentence.

Justice Karnan has gone into hiding ever since the apex court sentenced him on May 9 and has even moved the top court asking for a review of the verdict.

In his petition filed before the President, Justice Karnan has alleged that he has been denied justice by “the highest court of the land”. The petition says: “The concept of justice is divine; it is his birth right and when justice is denied by highest court, the only authority which the petitioner could think of to seek justice from the President of India.”
