New Delhi: The Broadcast Editors Association on Thursday termed the crude bomb attack on a media house in Tamil Nadu as serious threat to democracy and urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam to take immediate action over the incident.
“I believe attacking media houses with bombs are aimed at scaring away the media and the Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) is highly concerned about these kinds of incidents. This can be a serious threat to democracy,” said BEA general secretary N.K. Singh.
The Tamil television news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai was attacked with crude bombs at about 3 am this morning in Chennai. Although no damages were reported, CCTV footage showed four men on two motorcycles throwing the crude bombs at the entrance to the office, say reports.
