How the trend started?

Although the ‘Kiki, do you love me?’ song is created by Canadian rapper Drake, the #KikiChallenge went viral when comedian Shiggy posted a video on Instagram where he himself is seen dancing on the song. Interestingly, his video didn’t involve a car. Later American footballer Odell Beckham Jr also recorded himself dancing outside his car. Even celebrities like Will Smith have uploaded the video of Kikichallenge on top of a bridge in Budapest.

How it is creating havoc in India…

After wreaking havoc in the west, the KiKi Challenge has now knocked the Indian doors or say ‘cars’. Ever since the trend of Kiki challenge started, it has landed many in trouble. In a recent event, a Vadodara woman has left Gujarat Police fuming. Rizwana Meer, a resident of Vadodara was attempting the KiKi Challenge on a busy road, as a result, the slow-moving car disrupts the traffic on the road, leaving the commuters behind honking.

Looking at the increasing incident of the Kiki challenge, Bengaluru police promised to take stern action against those found indulging in dancing on city roads. Similar to this, the Mumbai police also warned police against dancing on the roads.

How celebs are taking it despite cop warnings

Ever since people started taking the #KikiChallenge, police across nation issued warning against the trend. However, despite the warning and ignoring it, there are many celebs who attempted the challenge. Shraddha Arya, who is currently seen as Preeta in ‘Kundali Bhagya’ did the challenge and called it lamest ‘Kiki challenge’ ever. The list also includes Nia Sharma, Kushal Tandon, Nora Fatehi, and reality TV star Niveditha Gowda. A case has been filed against Gowda at the Halasuru Gate police station by a fringe Kannada outfit regarding the same and was also summoned by the police.
