New Delhi: The Delhi government has issued new ration cards to 120,000 families in July under the National Food Security Act, a government release said today.
“These families have started receiving the highly subsidised food grains namely rice at 3 rupees per kg and wheat at 2 rupees per kg from this month,” the release quoted Commissioner of Food and Supplies S.S Yadav as saying.
Besides, 164,259 families comprising 555,325 members have also been added to the food security net, who would get their new cards in August, it said.
During Jul-Aug 2014, the Delhi government will be adding 970,767 people under the food security net, the release said. Delhi had launched the Food security Act in August 2013.
