New Delhi : The Congress leaders, led by party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, on Saturday lashed out at the Modi government for its failure on the employment front.
“Between promises and performance lies capability and commitment…Sad to see our youth let down by this government’s lack of vision,” tweeted Rahul in reaction to a report on top seven IT firms, including Infosys and Wipro, to lay off at least 56,000 this year.
“Techies I spoke to are extremely concerned about current & impending layoffs. No safety nets and Govt’s lack of response or ideas to deal with it,” tweeted Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
On its Twitter handle, the Congress said: “UPA provided job growth, BJP stopped job growth.”
“Does the Govt have any roadmap to provide jobs to the youth of our country,” it asked.
