Mangalore: Various organisations have called for a stir and Kollur Bandh tomorrow in connection with the burial of Shri Vimalananda Swamiji in the premises of the famous Kollur Mookambika temple.
Shri Vimalananda Swamiji of Nithyananda Ashramam had passed away on June 2. The Nithyanada Ashram devotees had buried his mortal remains in the outskirts of the temple, which was objected to by the temple administration and had asked Nithyanada Ashram devotees to demolish the Samadhi.
The Kollur villagers who sought the shifting of the samadhi of Vimalananda built in the outskirts of the temple have called for a bandh tomorrow seeking immediate action on the issue while other organisations have called for a Kollur Bandh on the same day as a mark of protest against the Kollur Math’s move to shift the Samadhi.
Meanwhile, the State Endowment Department officials visited Kollur Mookambika Temple in connection with the issue last evening to study the situation and report the same to the Endowment Commissioner.
The State Endowment Department officials inspected the Samadhi and also met the officials of Shri Nithyanada ashram and listened to their grievances. The devotees of Nithyanada ashram said that, if the Endowment department orders to demolish the Samadhi they would take legal action.
