PATNA : Bihar school examination board chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh is likely to be arrested in the intermediate examinations scam, SIT officials said here on Wednesday.
They said enough evidence has been found against Singh who submitted his papers to the principal secretary of education department earlier in the day. Police raided his house at Patna City, but he could not be found. Senior SP Manu Maharaj said he was questioned on Tuesday.
Joint teams of Patna and Vaishali police on Wednesday took into custody, principal of two government schools-one at Hajipur and another at Rajendra Nagar, Patna .They were centre superintendents of examination and evaluation centres for the students the Vishnu Rai Intermediate College from where the toppers apeared. Senior SP said Bachcha Rai, director of the controversial college is “absconding”.
Patna police searched the houses of the four toppers- Saurabh, Rahul, Ruby and Shalini in Vaishali and did not find them. Police pasted notices on the houses asking the students whose names appear in the FIR filed at Kotwali police station to appear before the SIT by Wednesday evening, otherwise police would take strong action against them.
