Army Lieutenant, 2 others arrested on charges of gang rape

Jaipur: An Army personnel and two others have been arrested after a 27-year-old woman filed a complaint of gang rape against them, police said today.

The three accused — 26-year-old Army Lieutenant Vinesh Yadav, Akash Choudhary and Pankaj Katewa, both 25 years’ old — were arrested after the FIR was registered this morning.

The accused are all residents of the city’s Prem Nagar area and the Lieutenant is posted outside the state.


The woman alleged that the accused lured her to a hotel room yesterday evening while she was roaming around the Sindhi Camp area dominated by roadways bus stand and hotels, and took turn to rape her.

A case under section 376-D of the IPC against the accused, police said, adding that the woman had been sent for a medical examination. Her antecedents were also being verified, they added.
