It took four hours and 15 fire tenders making multiple trips to bring the fire under control.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the factory building was completely gutted and the loss is estimated around Rs 5 lakh. Fire safety officials said the building neither had fire- fighting equipments nor a no- objection certificate from the department.Residents were frightened of the billowing smoke and remained out of their houses until the fire was doused.

Neighbors told media persons they had complained many times about the factory and have also asked the owner Milind Sugandhi to shift the factory somewhere else as this a residential area and the factory also has previous records of fire breakout.
