Attacking Congress President Rahul Gandhi on his remarks regarding 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has placed hoardings in national capital which says, ‘Rajiv Gandhi – Father of Mob Lynching’. Moreover, Bagga has also shared the video of the hoarding on his Twitter handle.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had denied involvement of Congress party in anti-Sikh riots which occurred in 1984 following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh. “I have no confusion in my mind about that. It was a tragedy, it was a painful experience. You say that the Congress party was involved in that, I don’t agree with that. Certainly there was violence, certainly there was a tragedy,” Rahul had said in his speech.

Supporting Rahul’s words, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that only some members of Congress party were involved in anti-Sikh riots and Congress party wasn’t involved in the riots, which killed over 3000 people. The Punjab CM also came under attack for defending Rahul. His comment drew criticism from the BJP and its allies who said that Congress was involved in the genocide.

Reacting on the matter, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, “I say today with Rahul Gandhi’s brain, that I’m putting in place of my brain. If as per him Sikh massacre never took place then as per me his father and grandmother were never assassinated, they died of normal heart attack.”
