Hyderabad: Lok Satta Party founder president Jayaprakash Narayan today said the outfit would “join hands” with BJP because its PM nominee Narendra Modi is emphasising upon good governance and economic development.
Lok Satta would also draw attention of RBI and Election Commission of India to “irresponsible promises” being made by political parties.
“Lok Satta has decided to join hands with BJP because its Prime Ministerial candidate has laid emphasis on economic development, provision of jobs for youth and good governance,” Narayan said in a statement.
Narayan is the sole MLA of the party.
He said agriculture sector continued to be in crisis despite Union government waiving loans worth Rs 65,000 crores five years back. “Farmers could be helped by ensuring remunerative prices for their produce and facilities like warehouses and cold storages,” he said.
He claimed that Lok Satta worked towards ensuring good price for paddy farmers by fighting against illegal trade restrictions on exports.
“…Most important challenge before the country is to provide jobs to youth in manufacturing sector. While China created 20-25 crore jobs in last two decades, half of them are in manufacturing sector. India even today has just 80 lakh workers in entire manufacturing sector,” the statement said.
He said, “India has to create nearly one crore jobs every year in manufacturing sector for next 10 years keeping in mind that nearly 1.5 crore people of working age are joining the ranks every year”.
