Kerala Rains: Airtel, Jio announce free data and talk-time for customers in flood-hit state

Situation in flood-hit Kerala is getting worse day-by-day. At present, 79 people have lost their lives and amid this situation, Airtel and Jio have announced few measures for its subscribers. Airtel is giving its prepaid subscribers free data and talk time worth Rs 30 and all STD and local calls made to Airtel numbers will be free from August 17 to August 19. And also postpaid users will get an extension on bill payments. Airtel is also providing free WiFi and calling facility to affected users and also providing option to recharge their phone batteries at selected Airtel stories. These Airtel Stores are located in Thrissur, Calicut, Malappuram, Kannur, Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Ernakulam. Similar to this, Jio is also providing free voice calls and data to users to help its subscribers.

For Jio users will get unlimited voice and data access for a week so that they can stay in touch with friends and family. Meanwhile, as of now, the unprecedented rain have caused flooding situation which resulted in deaths of many. Kochi airport has been shut down, and the army, the navy, the NDRF and other forces are working on rescue and relief operations.
