It seems Indian women’s cricket team Vice Captain Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to grab headlines every now and then. First with her majestic knock of 171 against Australia in the semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup earlier this year. Then by becoming first Indian batter to make an appearance in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Australia’s premier T20 tournament for cricketers from around the world. And now by debuting on the ramp. Yes! You read it right.
Harmanpreet Kaur debuted on the ramp for ace designer Archana Kochhar at Mysore Fashion Week 2017 finale that was held recently. Harmanpreet looked stunning. Clad in an elegant blue lehenga, Kaur looked a bit nervous on the stage but did not let her humble smile go as the jam-packed venue cheered the cricketer.
Designer Archana Kochhar, who is known to bring something unique every time in her shows, celebrated the spirit of Real Women at the Mysore Fashion Week Grand Finale showcasing her new collection ‘Melange’. “For me, Harmanpreet and the entire Indian Women Cricket team are a role model. They are the real woman who has made a mark in a game like cricket which is known as a Man’s game. They set a solid example for all those women who want to go out and achieve their dreams,” shared Designer Archana Kochhar.
The collection ‘Melange’ begins with a range of stunning red carpet evening gowns with structured ruffles and intricate cutouts. The collection further flows into a beautiful Ethnic contemporary feel, with handcrafted Lucknowi Lehngas and Anarkalis in soft pastel pallets of ivory, peach, Tiffany blue and hues of black and gold.
