GIS 2016: Indore global investor summit day 2

Day 2 of Global Investors Summit 2016 got underway this morning at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The event is held at the Brillant Convention Center in the city to woo investments in the state.

Union minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj, Union minister Venkaiah Naidu, Yash Birla, Chairman of Birla Cements and Union minister for environment, forests and climate change Anil Madhav Dave were some of the dignitaries present at the GIS event.

Some of the highlights so far from the GIS 2016 are as follows –


-Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu talked at length about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of reform, perform and transform. Naidu was addressing valedictory function of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-Shift in policy is as much as plan for smart cities not being made in Delhi but in respective states, said Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu at the valedictory function of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday

-World over economy is in a slump but India emerging as favourite destination, said Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu at valedictory function of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-Addressing the valedictory session of GIS 2016 in Indore on Sunday Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu said urbanisation is irreversible.  Thus making of cities powerful is essential.

-Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu while addressing the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday said in a lighter note that with the advent of Narendra Modi government at the Centre the overhead water tank is now clean therefore all will get clean water. Earlier the overhead water tank was not clean so even changing taps could not get you clean water.

-Praising the rapid development in Madhya Pradesh, Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu said that it is becoming mukhya pradesh in the country. He was addressing the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-At Global Investors Summit in Indore on Sunday, Chhindwara Plus Developer director Kamal Kumar Agrawal announced plans to invest Rs 20000 crore in MP

-Union minister for environment, forests and climate change Anil Madhav Dave urged industries to spend a portion of their gross or net profit on R&D to ensure that Indian industries also get patents.

-We are fortunate to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi who does not allow us ministers to rest even after returning from a foreign visit because there is a backlog which had to be dealt with in the next 10 to 15 years, said Union minister for environment, forests and climate change Anil Madhav Dave.

-Make sure that we work as a responsible member of the society, said Union minister of environment, forests and climate change Anil Madhav Dave while urging industrialists to ensure that their effluent treatment plants and other infrastructure works properly to avoid harming the environment. -Yash Birla, chairman Birla Cements, said his group is keen to make more investments in MP whenever opportunity would knock. He called team MP constructive, while addressing the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-At Global Investors Summit in Indore on Sunday, Union forest minister Anil Madhav Dave said that all environment and forest clearance would be issued in 120 days instead of 300 days. He cautioned, “If air pollution is not checked, people may have to purchase oxygen bottles like water bottles in the years to come.”

-At Global Investors Summit in Indore on Sunday, Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan urged MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to bring petroleum under GST. He also said that green refinery to be set up in Bina in Madhya Pradesh.

-Union minister for social justice and empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot highlighted the improved growth rate in Madhya Pradesh ever since BJP government came to power in the state. He was addressing the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-At Global Investors Summit in Indore on Sunday, Union minister for social justice and empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot said that India is  importing motorised tricycles and artificial organs despite 70 years of independence. He called upon investors to invest in making equipment and devices for differently abled people, some of whom made India proud in the recently held Paralympic in Brazil.

-Addressing the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said we want to increase per capita income and improve quality of life of even the poor. MP will fulfill the dream of homes for all.

-Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told guests at the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday that we seek investments to ensure that we get revenue to spend on various schemes of the government for people of this state.

-Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, while delivering the valedictory speech at the conclusion of Global Investment Summit 2016 in Indore on Sunday, said that MP is land of unparalleled beauty with its wild life sanctuaries, rivers and historical and heritage structures.

-Business environment in the country has improved considerably due to various positive steps taken by the Narendra Modi government, said Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj at the valedictory session of Global Investment Summit in Indore on Sunday.

-India will be fastest growing economyin 2017-18 as per International Monetary Fund even as world over there will be a slump in economy, said Sushma Swaraj

-Korea to explore investment opportunities in electronics, automobile and construction, Korean ambassador Cho Hun hopeful for investment in MP.
