Shimla: Police today booked two Chinese nationals for entering the sensitive Indo-Tibet border without valid permit, an official said.
Kinnaur police had intercepted the two Chinese nationals near Namgya on Indo-Tibet border last evening for entering the border area without “inner line permit”, he said.
However, no case was registered against the Tibetan Laddakhi women, who were accompanying them, as they are not Chinese nationals, he said.
The accused would be produced in the Court for remand and the motive of their visit would be known only after their antecedents and SIM cards details are verified, which would take some time, Additional Director General of Police(CID), S R Mardi said.
The Chinese nationals are having valid travel documents, including passport and visa, but their intrusion into sensitive border area without valid permit has raised suspicions about their movements, he said.
The police had taken the Chinese nationals to Pooh police station and five mobile phones and SIM cards and Chinese currency worth Rs 3,000 was recovered from them.
Police are investigating the matter, he said.
