Thai food is a perfect balance of sweet, sour and salty infused in harmony with precision and clean cuts of produce. It is said to be soothing for mind and body with not just its taste but medicinal properties too. Mumbai has been a food hub since ages, and Thai food has created an impact on the foodies here as well. There are many restaurants which serve a wide range of Pan Asian food, but only a few have gained their share of fame by serving some mouth watering Thai delicacies.

Mamagoto

Mamagoto when translated means “to play with food”. The interior here has a theme of Manga designs. They serve more of fusion than authentic food. Tamnak Thai

Great place to have you completely indulge into Thai food. The Som Tam Thai or Green Papaya Salad is must try here. They also have a good collection of spirits. The meat dishes are cooked to perfection which turn out to be tender and juicy with complex Thai flavours. It is at 274, Shivaji Park, Veer Savarkar Marg, Dadar Shivaji Park. Lemon Leaf

It is a a bold new culinary voyage and Mumbai’s go-to Pan Asian restaurant. They have stunning wooden interiors and Buddha statues to give you a nostalgic moment of Thailand. They serve good portions at a great price. Spicy Grilled Chicken Salad with Field Greens In A Tangy Garlic Dressing, Burnt Garlic Chicken Soup, and Dumpling Basket are some of their dishes worth trying. They have outlets at Bandra and Andheri.  Cost for two 1200 INR approximately.

Thai Pavilion

This place has been standing since 11 years. It was given a dramatic makeover by Japanese designer Noriyoshi Muramatsu. One wall is a collage of scrap wood intricately carved with Thai motifs; another is a fretwork of traditional Thai Craft. They have an interactive kitchen at the centre which demonstrates live cooking. The aroma from the kitchen stimulates the senses. The staff here recommends pairing food with a fine collection of wines. It is at Vivanta by Taj President, 90, Cuffe Parade. Cost for two 3500 INR approximately.

Busaba

This restaurant has made a special place in the heart of foodies. Founder and executive chef Nikhil Chib created India’s first South East Asian Restaurant and gave the city a lavish cuisine. They have completed 15 years in the food industry and are still going strong with great food and service. It is located at 4, Mandlik Road, Next to Indigo, Colaba. All Stir Fry- The Gordon House Hotel

A fancy restaurant with a Noodle bar to create own meal. They also have Dim Sum and Satay Bar. The place speaks for itself with food served in a clean and polished manner. It is at 5, Battery Street, Apollo Bunder, Colaba. Cost for two 2500 INR approximately.
