After winning our hearts with the chocolate-boy roles that he has played on-screen till date, it’s noted that young actor Varun Dhawan would be seen in a gritty and dark role for the very first time in filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s film ‘Badlapur’.
Also it’s known that Varun signed this film just after his first film ‘Student Of The Year’, which gave him much recognition and accolades. So in a recent group interview, when Varun was asked to identify his edge as an actor, he admitted that to be his fearlessness in taking risks!
”I would say my ability to take risks when it comes to roles is my only edge as an actor. Even when I was doing ‘Main Tera Hero’, I was warned against doing it. Even with ‘Badlapur’, the same thing happened when I decided to go for it,” Varun revealed.
In other news, it’s noted that a news about the actor saying that if ‘Badlapur’ works it might enter the coveted 100-Cr club has been doing the rounds for quite some time. Reacting to it Varun dismissed the story saying that he has not done ‘Badlapur’ for money!
Varun took to micro blogging site Twitter where he wrote, ”There’sis an article doing the rounds where I have been misquoted I have not spoken about the 100 cr club and badlapur entering it. Badlapur is a film I have not done for money and for me the film will work only if the public appreciates what we have done cinematically.”
The film also features Yaami Gautam, Radhika Apte, Divya Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is slated to release on February 20.
