Actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput walked on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2018 in Mumbai on Wednesday. The couple turned showstopper for ace designer Anita Dongre, who showcased their personality rather than the usual catwalk. They walked, twirled, posed, talked and smiled at each other. Shahid sported a white bandhgala and Mira wore a lehenga choli. The five-day event started on January 31 and will conclude on February 4. Kareena is known to add elegance to the fashion gala. In the past, we have seen her dazzling on the ramp when she was pregnant with her child Taimur. This year the actress will walk the ramp for designer Anamika Khanna. The designer is known for her collection that blends Indian colours with global contours.
The Bareily Ki Barfi actress will turn showstopper for noted designer Tarun Tahiliani. The designer will showcase an avant-garde collection that highlights traditionalism in spirit with the essence of the brand. The collection has been inspired by spatial elements like milky way, stars, and constellations with a hint of romance and fantasy.
Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is set to win our hearts as she is all set to turn showstopper for ‘Kotwara’ – a brand by poet-filmmaker Muzaffar Ali and his producer wife Meera Ali. The designers will showcase their collection ‘Samanzar – A Garden of Flowers’, which blends the old and the new.
Actress Shilpa Shetty will walk the ramp for designer Jayanti Reddy for her collection titled ‘Life in Monochrome’. Staying true to the monochrome theme the collection will flaunt embroidery with details, ruffles, and sheen.
Actress Vaani Kapoor will walk the ramp for designer Neha Agarwal for her label AGAMI. A brand that encourages the age-old legacy of Indian couture and traditional Indian crafts. The designer will showcase her collection ‘Lost in the Woods’ that aims to promote Indian zardozi craftsmanship in contemporary patterns. The collection includes a lot of pastel hues embroidered with deeper tones.
The Cocktail actress Diana Penty will turn showstopper for Jaipur-based designer Punit Balana. The designer will showcase his line ‘Bagru’ and will present his work on the closing day of LFW on February 4. The collection is inspired by the centuries-old art of printing which originated in Bagru town in Rajasthan.
