Even after proving her mettle as an actor, Taapsee Pannu says that she is still trying to make her way into the actor’s crème de la crème list

She is one of the few actors to watch out for in Hindi cinema but actress Taapsee Pannu says bagging a good project is not easy for her as she still has a long way to go before making it to the A-list film industry and is still figuring out how to make the cut.

“There will always be a time when there will be people better than you and also not as good as you. I still don’t consider myself an A-lister. I don’t know what will make me a part of it,” says Taapsee.

The 30-year-old actor, who received critical acclaim for her performances in films such as “Baby” and “Pink”, had recently hit out saying that even after giving power-pack performances there are actors in Bollywood who refused to work with her as she was not an A-list actor.

“It’s not like I don’t get rejected now. I am sure in the future too there will be times where I’ll get rejected. I am slowly getting used to this. There will be times when I’ll replace someone, there will be times when I will be replaced. It obviously shook me in the beginning. But now I’ve told myself that this is the rule of the game. This will keep happening till the end of the career. You’ve to be thick skinned about it,” says “Naam Shabana” actor.

Taapsee is now gearing up for her film “Judwaa 2”, the reboot of the 1997 hit “Judwaa” which starred Salman Khan in a double role. The new movie features Varun Dhawan reprising Salman’s role. One of the reasons she wanted to do the film was to surprise the audience with her choice of glamorous characters, which turned out to be a challenge for her.

“I don’t know if I should take it as a compliment or an insult but when I used to go out with friends, people used to come up to me and say that you look much prettier in real life. So I just wanted to tick mark a glamour role from my bucket list. Moreover, it is not easy to do such roles, you have to look like a million bucks in every frame; you don’t wake up like this. For me it was very hard to look like that especially when I had Varun and Jacqueline next to me who have already established the fact that they are the hottest looking man and woman in the industry, so I had to live up to their standards, that was pretty stressful or the only stress I had in the film,” she adds.
