Reportedly, CBFC is all set to clear Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati with 5 modification. However, it seems like the protesters against the film Shri Rajput Karni Sena is not in the mood to allow the release of Padmavati as they have started nationwide protest against the film from today itself.
As per the reports on the website India.com, Shri Rajput Karni Sena demands resignation of I&B minister Smriti Irani, politician and former shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi. Apparently, Padmavati is seen by a special panel including historians who have given a U/A certificate. They have also suggested a change in the title for the film, changing it to ‘Padmavat’ from ‘Padmavati’ to indicate that the film is a work of fiction based on the poem by Mallik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. Moreover, if reports are to be believed then Padmavati might be released on February 9, 2018.
Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati has faced a lot of barriers from communities, however, it seems like the makers have to fight more to release the film. Earlier, Padmavati was supposed to release on December 1, however, the major violence against the film resulted in makers to postpone it.
Now, let’s see what happens next with Padmavati.
