Shahid Kapoor starts filming for ‘Padmavati’

Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor has started shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmavati” starring Deepika Padukone in lead role.

The period drama stars Shahid as Raja Ratan Singh.


“Day 1. #Padmavati wish me luck guys,” the 35-year-old actor posted on Instagram along with a picture of his bearded look.

Ranveer Singh is essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi sultan, who falls in love with Padmavati.

Sudeep Chatterjee is serving as the director of photography.

While Ranveer and Deepika have worked with Bhansali before in “Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela” and “Bajirao Mastani,” it is the first time that Shahid is teaming up with the filmmaker.
