Ranbir Kapoor has won a lot of accolades for his gritty and almost real portrayal of Bollywood’s original bad boy, Sanjay Dutt in Sanju. He was both intense and believable in the movie and won a lot of praise from all quarters for the same.
Ranbir got into the skin of Sanjay’s character and efficiently portrayed his drug and alcohol phase. On many occasions he has opened up about his fondness to alcohol in real life too. Ranbir has never shied away from accepting that he has a bit of drinking problem and credits his Kapoor genes for the same.
In a recent interview to Health and Nutrition magazine he was quoted opening up about his drinking issue some more. He said, “I don’t have a drinking addiction but yes I have a tendency to drink a lot. When I start, I don’t stop. I guess it’s in my blood, you know my family is.. They are all very fond of alcohol. So, yes it’s in my genes to drink.”
He also revealed that while his father’s family tends towards eating good food and having a lot to drink, it’s his mom Neetu Kapoor who insists on maintaining a good lifestyle and eating healthy.
He said, “Staying healthy is something I adapt from my mother. She is so particular about it, and always encourages both my sister and me to follow a healthy lifestyle. And now, as I am growing older, I understand the value of health, nutrition and well-being even more.”
Ranbir will be seen in Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt next. The movie has been directed by his best friend Ayan Mukerji and also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Next, he has signed Shamshera with Sanjay Dutt.
