Mumbai: Discovery JEET, the new entertainment channel from Discovery India, with meaningful content spanning biopics, historicals, crime et al is all set to showcase comedy albeit in a unique way starting February 17, 2017 with Comedy High School.

Produced by SOL Productions, the sitcom is a light-hearted take on society, culture, education and current affairs through a classroom based set up. The plot of Comedy High School is extremely differentiated – Principal Ram Kapoor is a very stressed out man. His school building is at the risk of imminent collapse and the only way to save it is by getting a government grant. However, the grant is conditional on getting a 100% pass result in the school. However, four Class VII students are unlikely to pass. That’s because they haven’t passed Class VII in the last twenty years. Principal Ram and his oddball teachers will go beyond the limits of their collective willpower and ability to pass the class and get the grant in this sketch comedy series. No duffer will get left behind.

Comedy High School includes a crazy bunch of students like Happy Singh (Rapper), Ankita (Struggling actor), Sharman, Parvati. The school has teachers from various streams like English, Hindi, Physical Training, Personality Development along with the disciplinarian Principal and the morally uptight Trustee. Lead celebrities will visit the school, every week, in myriad avatars.

Speaking about the comedy show, Ram Kapoor, said, “Comedy is exciting; it is an unexplored domain for me – and I have been open for comedy shows for a long time now. The plot of Comedy High School sealed the deal for me – I loved it; it is intrinsically funny and I am confident that the viewers will love every moment of it.”

Even before launch, the show has been able to attract lead celebrities including Salman Khan, Swami Ramdev, Sunny Leone and Anu Malik. The weekly show, slated to launch on Saturday, February 17, at 9:00 pm prime time, will have Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as a special guest in the opening episode and will witness some outstanding acts that will tickle every one’s funny bones.
