Rajat Kapoor’s fantasy has got the ‘X’ factor


The poster of ‘X: Past is Present’ seems to be like a page straight out of any man’s fantasy! The film that traces one man’s amorous journey has translated the ultimate fantasy on the poster. One guy sharing space with 12 beautiful women including Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte and Swara Bhaskar and that’s what has gotten trade and industry circles abuzz. Besides the international feel, what hasn’t gone unnoticed by movie-goers is the eclectic mix of faces on it. For so many actresses to be on the same page is certainly a first especially for an Indie film, point out trade wallahs. More so, since the actresses all come from a different space of films, it’s creating an excitement among movie goers to see them all come together.

No wonder, the poster is being much-talked about in the film circles with movie-goers taking to several social networking sites praising the poster’s look. An insider reveals, “The poster of ‘X’ has had one of the best tractions so far. More so, since it’s an Indie film, for a poster to get this kind of a response is really phenomenal. It’s a good start for the film.”

Apart from the poster of the film, the trailer has already managed to get more than 8 lakh hits in four days since its release and the counting continues. Trade buzz reveals that the trailer has left behind several of its contemporaries in the count. But it’s not just the numbers that has the trade and industry talking about this experimental venture. What’s also setting the trailer apart is that the beyond the positive response, the film has also been getting reactions from all extremes of the industry, right from Ronnie Screwvala to Kamaal R Khan, and has been making an impact with an eclectic mix of industrywallahs!

An industry insider reveals that in terms of numbers alone, Titli got 7.7 lakh hits in three weeks, while Angry India Goddesses that launched its campaign way before X is still close to 3 lakh hits. “This kind of a response to an Indie film is phenomenal. Clearly the film has struck a chord with movie-lovers of all genres and across board. For the film to have garnered so many hits within three days says a lot.”
