Police complaint against veteran actor ‘Jeetendra’ for sexually assaulting his cousin

Veteran actor Jeetendra has been accused of sexually assaulting his cousin, a case has been filed against Jeetendra in Shimla, according to Outlook magazine. The report says that the incident is not new it has taken place in the year 1971 almost 47 years ago when Jeetendra was 28 years old and his cousin 18.Jeetendra, whose real name is Ravi Kapoor, is the son of the victim’s father’s sister.

According to News18, Jeetendra’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has denied the allegations and said the baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims have been made to defame the actor with a personal agenda. He also said the charges cannot be entertained by any court of law or law enforcement agencies after a span of almost 50 years.

The incident happened when Jeetendra “arranged” for the victim to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the set of his movie without the complainant’s “awareness”. The victim has claimed that on the night they reached Shimla, Jeetendra returned to the room in an inebriated state, joined the two separate beds and sexually assaulted her.

The reason the victim waited for so long time to open about it is, she waited for her parents’ demise to do so as she knew it would break their heart. The complainant reportedly wants to be freed of the mental trauma that she had been subjected to all these years and wants justice to prevail, which explains why she filed a police complaint against the actor. Jeetendra is yet to comment on the allegation, according to Inputs from IANS
