PIL against Kamal Hassan for hurting Hindu sentiments


Kamal Hassan the superstar of South is in trouble for commenting on Mahabharata, A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed against him in the Tirunelveli district court by Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) for hurting the sentiments of Hindus according to India Today. In an interview to a private news channel, Haasan allegedly commented on Mahabharat saying that Panchali was used as a pawn while the men gambled. The HMK in its complaint claimed that the remarks of the actor may incite enmity between groups and cause disturbance to public tranquillity.

The HMK has called Hassan anti-Hindu and told that does he have guts to speak against Bible and Quran in the same way. From Jallikattu to Dravidian politics, the actor is not new to controversies. During the recent political crisis in Tamil Nadu, Hassan was quite vocal about his choice of the chief minister in the state. Haasan had recently taken to Twitter and posted strong messages against social inequality and the political situation in the state after the death of Jayalalithaa. The actor welcomed the protest for Jallikattu by students at Marina beach too stating that he was expecting more such protests.
