No touch-up for Vidya Balan


Powerhouse performer Vidya Balan, who is willing to give her all to get under the skin of a character, will sport a no-make up look in Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, given the story and sensibility of the plot.

And while most actresses would have their reservations about it, Vidya was kicked with the idea and even worked closely with her artist on the look. Says Vidya, “I have no problem with make-up, but Sujoy (Ghosh) wanted a realistic look as that’s how he envisioned Durga Rani. It helped that my make-up artiste Shreyas specialises in the no make-up look. Barring some lotion to protect the skin, nothing was applied on my face. Since we were shooting in Kalimpong, West Bengal, the skin was required to look a little dry as it’s cold there. We incorporated all of that while deciding the look.”

This certainly isn’t the first time when Vidya sported a no make-up look. In fact we’ve heard that Vidya Balan refused to get her pictures photo shopped after she shot for a popular Bollywood magazine. Definitely take a lot of guts to take such stand.
